Students created models representing the composition of Earth's air. Each model showed the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, and thermosphere. Students learned that very little carbon dioxide exists naturally in the atmosphere.

Students used marshmallows and toothpicks to discover how chemicals can break down stratospheric ozone.

Students created a model of a greenhouse to test how well the Earth's atmosphere traps heat. We used the NOVA 5000 to take readings every 10 minutes for 40 minutes. Some results showed a difference of 20 degrees between the model with an atmosphere and the model without an atmosphere.
