Meet a 12-year old boy named Andy who is assigned by his seventh grade history teacher to research his family history.  After searching through old mementos including a family Bible, Andy begins to ask questions about a particular ancestor no one in his family will discuss. Secrecy motivates Andy to go beyond his family and make inquiries on the Internet.  Even after being warned to stop his investigation, Andy vows to expose the truth of past events. Read to find out what obstacles Andy must overcome and how he, his family, and friends must deal with the truth of Andy's ancestry.

Find out about famous Texans and Texas archives at Lone Star Junction.

  • Research the genealogy of a famous Texan and develop a family tree.

ACTIVITY  2

Plan a trip from Corpus Christi to Hermosa. 

  • Draw a map to record the route.

  • Show mode of transportation, time period, supplies, equipment.

  • Create a journal that illustrates and explains the information listed above.

ACTIVITY  3

Interview family members and look through records to create a family tree and history.

Create a scrapbook displaying all of your findings.
